 My thanks to the committee for a well organised show and my stewards for keeping things flowing along nicely. Thanks to all the exhibitors who gave me a good entry of excellent dogs to go over and the good sportsmanship shown by all.

Field Trial D or B. (1,0)

1 Smith’s Yennadon Fairisle of Clacorick. Bitch with a feminine head and expression, dark eye and low set ears. Good depth of chest and front, level topline standing and on the move. Moved well. RBB.

Special Vintage D or B. (4,2)

1 McErlean’s Carrochan Suilvenbeag. Well balanced bitch with feminine head, dark eye, moved ok. 2 Smith’s Yennadon Carrick of Clacorick. Dog with typical Gordon head, dark eye, good angulation front and rear, level topline. Good tan with muzzle just going grey.

Veteran Dog. (4,1)

1 Tong’s Liric Special Tribute to Kellizlot (AI) JW. Judged this boy before and he still pleases. Balanced dog of substance with stylish looks. Typical Gordon head with correct proportions and low set ears. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good front & depth of rib, well angulated fore and aft. Well off for coat and moved with drive. BVIS. 2 Pearce’s Ardnadam Red Kite. Lighter build than 1 but balanced overall. Head well proportioned with good reach of neck. Good front and well angulated front & rear, clear tan. Moved ok. 3 Butler’s Yennadon Fortes at Rubymoon.


Puppy Dog. (1,1) No Entries.


Junior Dog. (3,1)

1 Harker’s Hernwood Achilles at Ettrick JW. Substantial dog with strong head of correct proportions, with low set ears. Good reach of neck and front, deep chest and level topline. Moved ok. 2 Munro’s Hernwood Northern Adonis of Dulmaur. Litter brother to 1, another substantial dog with typical Gordon head of correct proportions, good front and deep chest. Tight feet with correct tan on feet & head. Moved with drive.

Yearling Dog. (3,0) 1 Millar’s Yennadon Benriach JW. Smaller made dog but well put together with well proportioned head, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Well angulated front and back, correct tail set. Moved with drive. Well presented with correct tan and gleaming black coat. 2 Harker’s Hernwood Achilles at Ettrick JW. 3 Munro’s Hernwood Northern Adonis of Dulmaur.


Novice Dog. (2,1)

1 Knight’s Benbuie Thorntree. Well-made youngster with good head proportions, dark eye and low set ears. Good reach of neck and front. Moved well. Correct tan on feet and muzzle.


Graduate Dog. (4,0) 1 Millar’s Yennadon Benriach JW. 2 Sinclair’s Lachmhor Serendipity for Siochail (Imp HRV). Larger dog than 1 but balanced overall. Pleasing head with long low set ears. Good reach of neck. Sympathetically handled and moved out with drive. Good tan. 3 Knight’s Benbuie Thorntree. 4 Munro’s Hernwood Northern Adonis of Dulmaur.


Post Graduate Dog. (3,1) 1 George-Plunkett’s Melkinmere Hallinhow. Well balanced dog throughout. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders with correct angulation front and rear. Moved ok. Good tan on muzzle and feet. 2 Miller’s Rhum Night Legend. Smaller than 1 but still balanced overall. Good angulation front and rear, short hock to heel. Moved ok.


Mid Limit Dog. (7,3)

1 Rand’s Kintalis Love on the Rocks. Well balanced throughout with pleasing head, low set ears. Good reach of neck into correct shoulders, correct angulation front and rear and correct tailset. Good tan and tight feet. Moved well. 2 MacGregor’s Somerled Glen Urquart. Longer cast dog than one. Typical well-proportioned head. Good reach of neck and well off for bone. Moved ok. 3 Miller’s Brooks Shadow Mover. 4 Shield’s Florcott Inchtavannach Lad.


Limit Dog. (4,1)

1 McAvoy’s Laurelhach Bemm. Stylish dog which has the substance of a weight carrying hunter. Balanced throughout with a well-proportioned head with long low set ears. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, plenty of bone. Good front, deep chest with well sprung ribs. Well angulated front and rear and short hock to heel. Well off for coat which completed the picture. Owned the ring when he moved, true and steady with drive. BD & BIS 2 Hall’s Melview Moving Time JW. Lighter made than 1 but balanced throughout. Good reach of neck, well laid shoulders. Good depth of chest, short coupled and well angulated front and back. Moved out well. 3 Shield’s Florcott Inchtavannach Lad.


Open Dog. (4,1) Collins-Pitman & Anderson’s Black Mystery Phantom of the Opera by Amscot (Imp. CHE). Pleasing overall picture of a balanced Gordon with typical Gordon head of correct proportions and long low set ears. Lean long neck into well laid shoulders. Good front and depth of ribs. Correct angulation front and back with sufficient bone, level topline. Moved out steadily with drive. RBD 2 Butler’s Sh Ch Yennadon Lochan at Rubymood JW Sh.CM. Well balanced throughout but not as strong in head as 1. Good reach of neck, well laid shoulders. Deep chest and well angulated front and rear. Good tan throughout. Moved nice and steady. 3 Warren’s Benbuie Secret Agent JW.
