The Gordon Setter Club of Scotland was established with the purpose of bringing together those of us who love this incredible breed.
The Gordon Setter Club of Scotland was formed in November 1987 and was granted Kennel Club recognition a year later. Since then, the Club has held training days, field trials, demonstrations on the moor and fun days and currently holds both an Open and a Championship Show each year.
With the goal of ensuring the continued success of the breed - its health, well-being and future development - the Club works with the Kennel Club, Breed Council and other breed clubs to make sure Gordon Setters remain healthy and fit for the function.
To provide information and on-going education for those interested in Gordon Setters, the Club also runs various seminars on topics such as health, first aid, grooming and judging.
Members of the committee are available to answer questions and give advice on the care and commitment required to live with the breed. New members are always welcome to join and become involved in the friendly activities run by the Club.
It is also the time of year that we come looking for items, articles and adverts for the Newsletter. As we continue to celebrate the foundation of the Club 30 years ago it would be good to have more of your memories of Club events and the people and Gordons involved with the Club since it’s inception.
Email them to Gil Vick firstname.lastname@example.org before March 13th please and hopefully we will have a bumper issue to hand out at the Championship Show.
